Corrales Soccer Club Referees

Michael Posen (505-401-5985) is our Head Referee.

Referees must be scheduled using the NWRGSL website. Click here to login to the referee website.

Information on upcoming clinics can be found here.  On-line pre-registration REQUIRED for some of these clinics.

* Remember that every team needs to have a referee representing them.

Having qualified referees present at all league games is always a concern of coaches and parents. Certified referees are needed for each soccer game, both for the safety of the players and for the players' enjoyment of the game. Many games in the past few seasons have not had certified referees present for the game.  Two teams playing without a referee is a scrimmage, not a match, and does not count in the team record.  Like most other aspects of youth soccer, the availability of referees is completely dependent upon volunteers. Without enough volunteer referees, it is impossible to have a referee for all games scheduled. For this reason, the NWRGSL requires that each registered team provide a certified referee who will actively participate in the league schedule.

Active participation is defined as refereeing at least four league games during each 8-week season and filing a game report.  Teams who do not provide an active referee during the season will not be given permission to travel.

Referees can buy the newest gear approved by the US Soccer Federation at Official Sports.   Click here to visit Official Sports.

West side Referees can attend the annual TSRA meeting for up to date information and for good company and advice from fellow experienced Referees click here for more info.

Referees earn a small amount of money when they turn in match reports.  Don't forget to look to older brothers and sisters, cousins, and other teenagers to be your team referee.  Recreational soccer is a great place for youth referees to earn a little money and gain confidence.

If you have not re-certified for calendar year 2010, clinics may be available here.
